Sew Merry Christmas!

Christmas was a time for more non-woven projects.  I found a great tote bag pattern on this blog in October.  It was part of a monthly challenge on this blog.  I thought I would get a jump on the Season, so I went to Joann's found fabric, brought it home, and set up a sewing area.  There the fabric sat. And sat. Calling my name.  Suddenly it was November and Christmas was just weeks away.  Time to get busy.  It is amazing how quickly a project can come together when the deadline is looming.  Happily, both bags were finished in time for our Christmas gathering at Kathleen's home.

Another project that was started way back in August and finished (barely) in time, was a quilt for Kathleen's son Andrew.  Kathleen had mentioned that it was very difficult to find any "boy" items with cats on them.  I found fat quarters of these great cat fabrics and began my adventure in quilting.  I'd never machine quilted before.  Thanks to Sandra for her help in cutting, piecing and basting, and Vickie for the use of her sewing machine (I really covet her machine!) and her help in assembly and binding.  The quilt wouldn't have been finished without all your help.
