Amber asks for...

...a shrug and earflap hat, and the hat needs to be finished before she returns to Budapest.  Of course she does!

Now we need to find yarn and a pattern for an earflap hat.  Internet searches result in ideas, but no specific pattern.  Amber and I go on a yarn crawl, decide on Manos Silk Blend "Wildflower" and buy 2 skeins.  I experiment a bit and create my own pattern combining stockinette and seed stitch.

Cottonelle models the almost complete hat.  If you look closely, you can see a double point needle sticking out of the top of the hat.

The completed hat, lined in polarfleece for extra warmth.

The hat only used 1 skein.  I'll be making something with the other skein, stay tuned!

Amber found a 1950s shrug pattern.  We found an ivory mercerized cotton, it knit up quickly, and made the trip to Budapest along with the earflap hat.
